Control Room Operator

Position: Control Room Operator

Location/s: Waverly, VA

Duration: Full Time – Direct Hire

Shift: Up to $24.00/hr. (Depending on experience and qualifications)

We're seeking passionate individuals to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility, where innovation meets sustainability. As a full-time permanent member of our team, you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing the way we think about carbon storage and soil health.


Responsibilities:
  • Perform rotating day/night shift work.
  • Monitor and oversee plant operations from the Control Room
  • Execute startup, shutdown, and operation of facility equipment.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems.
  • Recommend plant improvement strategies.
  • Monitor and control the process within set parameters.
  • Review and update procedures.
  • Ensure efficient process operation.
  • Conduct audits for alarms, interlocks, and bypasses.
  • Train new hires and cross-train other staff members
  • Work flexible hours, including selected days off as needed.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.


Skills and Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Understand P&IDs, heat exchangers, motors, conveyors, furnaces, pressures, temperatures, and levels.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and drive to succeed are required.
  • Technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot are essential.
  • A respectful and safety-conscious mindset crucial
  • Experience in process plant manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of controls, logic, interlocks, and process controls
  • Familiarity with HMI's, DCS systems, and PLC direct control

  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with equipment and instrumentation.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to problem-solving.
  • Pursue continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork and independent work skills.
  • Perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Possess basic computer skills.


Physical Requirements:
  • Lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Climb and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Operate at heights of up to 40ft in an aerial lift.
  • Engage in strenuous work in dusty environments.
  • Adapt to various weather conditions.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks, wearing appropriate safety gear.
