Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryThe position of Engineering Research Center Administrative Director is responsible for overseeing the administrative and operational functions of the CURB Engineering Research Center at Washington University. CURB is a a new NSF Engineering Research Center (ERC), funded by the National Science Foundation NSF for up to 10 years, to create new industrial processes that use CO2 as input to create new product lines, from plastics to foodstuffs, reducing the impact of carbon outputs whilst also creating solutions for other large scale societal challenges such as food sustainability. CURB brings together a wide range of talent across science, engineering, social science, politics and business from four universities: Washington University in St Louis as the lead, Texas A&M, University of Delaware, and Prairie View A&M University. This role involves providing strategic leadership, managing Center operations and staff, coordinating research initiatives, fostering collaborations, and ensuring compliance with university and NSF policies. The position will report to the Center Director, and be a member of the Center Executive Leadership Council.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:• Provide strategic leadership and administrative support to the Engineering Research Center.• Develop and implement the center's strategic plan in collaboration with faculty and university leadership.• Oversee the operations of the center, including budget planning and monitoring, and evaluation.• Oversee staff recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development.• Collaborate with faculty members and researchers to facilitate research activities and projects.• Establish and maintain partnerships with industry, government agencies, and other research organizations.• Assist in proposal development and fundraising efforts to support the center's activities.• Prepare regular reports and presentations for the Center Executive Leadership Council, Deans Council, and National Science Foundation.• Perform other duties as assigned.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
