Title: Quality (QA) Engineer
Department: Engineering - Vehicle Electronics & Software
Reports to: Team Lead, Engineering

JOB SUMMARY:
Polaris, a global powersports leader, is looking for a QA Engineer to build high quality products on the Ride Command team. This is an exciting position on a team building world-class infotainment and connected rider solutions. As a technical contributor on the team, you will have the ability and empowerment to make changes and move quickly. You will have the opportunity to directly impact infotainment, connected vehicle, and cloud projects at Polaris. The ideal candidate is effective in a fast-paced Agile development environment, pushing industry best practices and system maturity through technical leadership, analysis, white box testing, automated testing, and performance testing of Ride Command products. Interest in powersports is a plus, as there are many opportunities to ride!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Contribute to infotainment and connected vehicle quality initiatives by developing robust test plans that exercise full system functionality and align with program requirements.
- Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios.
- Executing tests on software usability.
- Analyzing test results on errors or bugs, and usability.
- Summarize product quality status in a meaningful way that drives product decisions.
- Have a customer-focused mindset for delivering a product that is centered around a great customer experience.
- Interacting with Program team to understand product requirements.
- Be an active participant in enhancing a mature agile environment.
- Flexible enough to work on multiple products being produced for a fast-changing market.
- Thoroughly document issues found, assign proper severity, and drive resolution.
- Help build and maintain high team morale.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or similar degree
- 2 to 5 years of QA experience including test plan design, creation, execution, and reporting.
- Embedded Linux, and/or C/C++ QA experience
- Testing simulated CAN data (J-1939 preferred)
- Strong background and knowledge in system, smoke, white box, black box, integration, automated, and performance testing
- Proven experience testing complex, integrated systems with a cloud connectivity component.
- Experience with Agile development methods such as Scrum and Kanban
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Testing experience on automotive infotainment or embedded systems
- Testing experience with RESTful APIs
- Mobile application testing
- Bluetooth Classic connectivity testing
- Familiarity with cellular connectivity concepts (APN, VPN, eSIM)
