About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Manager to lead our AI Operational Assistants (AIOA) team. This team builds groundbreaking AI-driven tools that empower healthcare providers to automate workflows, optimize operations, and improve patient outcomes.

As an Engineering Manager on our AIOA team, you will drive technical excellence, mentor a talented team of engineers, and ensure seamless collaboration across departments. You will play a pivotal role in building innovative AI solutions that address complex operational challenges in healthcare while fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture.

This is a high-impact role that combines technical leadership with strategic oversight, working at the intersection of AI innovation and healthcare transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:

    • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

    • Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent.

    • Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews to support growth and development.

  • Project Management:

    • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven products and features for the AIOA team.

    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives.

    • Drive agile processes and establish best practices for engineering workflows.

  • Technical Leadership:

    • Collaborate with Product Management, Data Science, and Design teams to define technical requirements and product roadmaps.

    • Guide the team in architecture and systems design to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

    • Stay up-to-date with emerging AI/ML technologies and assess their applicability to our products.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Act as a bridge between engineering and other stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical deliverables.

    • Communicate project progress, challenges, and successes to executives and cross-functional teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering with 2+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role.

  • Strong technical expertise in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Node, or similar) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred)

  • Experience delivering AI, machine learning, or data-driven products in a production environment.

  • Solid understanding of software development best practices, including CI/CD, testing, and code reviews.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and alignment.

  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring engineering teams in fast-paced environments.

  • Hands-on coding contribution up-to 25%. 

It’s a Plus if You Have… 

  • Experience in healthcare technology or developing solutions for highly regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of AI/ML systems, frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data engineering pipelines.

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).

  • Passion for solving complex operational challenges in the healthcare domain.

The salary range for this role is $165,000 to $225,000. Qventus salary bands represent market data across different geographies. We consider several factors when determining compensation, including location, skills and qualifications, and prior relevant experience. Salary is just one component of Qventus’ total package.
