Rail Logistics Coordinator

Purpose/Introduction

The Commercial Organization plays a key role in developing and executing CPChem’s strategy and business plans. Commercial coordinates with Manufacturing and Technology to develop optimal sales and operating plans, grow our asset capabilities and plan for the future. They identify and evaluate business opportunities, execute the supply chain, build customer and supplier relationships and work to continuously improve our offerings to provide increased value for our customers and shareholders.

Responsibilities

PSM Activities

• Permit writing, permit auditing, equipment preparation for maintenance, and lockout tagout activities
• Manage hazmat empty railcar return including:
  • Verify post unload inspection is completed
  • Coordinate weighing of empty tank cars
  • Process empty billing in railroad’s website
  • Add empty tank cars to daily outbound list
• Track loaded HHC railcar inbounds and on-site loaded inventory to insure we do not violate our maximum intended inventory for isobutane and 1-hexene

Responsibilities (continued)

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Management of all plant and SIT scrap plastic order processing, inventory management and record keeping
• Manage the packaging/boxing process including:
  • Customer Samples
  • Partially loaded returned railcars
  • Quality/lab samples
  • Railcar lightening
  • Boxing supply inventory
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly ESOMS inspections
• Management for all loaded railcar records
• End of month inventory reconciliation

Responsibilities (continued)

• Process weigh events for loaded railcars daily
• Transmit completed outbound list to railroads after adding empty tank and hopper cars
• Investigate/coordinate customer complaints related to packaging goods
• Research, track and verify returned loaded railcar inventory
• Perform environmental sampling
• Track diesel inventory
• Manage office supplies
• Provide back-up coverage for the SIT YM

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree is a plus
• 2- 3 years customer service and/or rail operations experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to successfully interact in a team environment required
• Demonstrated commitment to safety is required
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external customers to identify improvements and efficiencies
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to details in a fast-paced work environment
• SAP requisition, PO management and delivery processing experience preferred
• Proficient on Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) preferred
• Railtrac and Yardmaster system knowledge a plus
• 49CFR DOT training certifications and experience is a plus
