Receptionist

Position Overview:
General Position Summary

The Receptionist is responsible for answering and routing phone calls, greeting visitors and general administrative duties. The position performs routine daily activities and must demonstrate strong communication and client service skills, as well as have good organizational and time management skills.
Job Description:
Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and answer and route incoming phone calls
  • Perform general administrative duties, including typing
  • Maintenance and update of phone system and contact information
  • Maintain conference room schedules and set-up/clean-up for meetings
  • Coordinate and follow-up on office/building maintenance requests
  • Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and Health
Management Program
  • Direct persons to correct destination
  • Deal with queries from the public and customers
  • Ensures knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
  • General administrative and clerical support
  • Receive mail and deliveries
  • Tidy and maintain the reception area, conference rooms, and kitchenettes
  • Perform general administrative duties such as typing, copying and filing
  • Lead Stretch and Flex program
  • Manage our corporate community investment initiatives such as fundraisers and campaigns including tracking contributions
  • Assist with special projects across departments with approval from manager

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Junior College or Vocational education desired
  • 2-4 years of related experience preferred

Work Environment/Job Conditions

This job is performed both in the office and in the field. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment, systems and conditions is required. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
