Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range: $18.97 to $23.71 (Commensurate with experience and consistent with the UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Altum Health is a department within the University Health Network with over 300 employees across several regional sites (Toronto, Cambridge, Barrie, Hamilton, Oakville, Ajax, Mississauga, Vaughan, Brampton, Oshawa, and Scarborough). We offer a full continuum of prevention, rehabilitation, and health care services to third party payors and individuals, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), employers, and insurers.

We actively participate in performance and outcomes measurement, continuous quality improvement and the education and training of the next generation of health and service professionals. Altum Health services prevent and manage acute and chronic injury as well as co-morbid conditions and integrate clients back into the workplace and home life. Our services result in positive outcomes and value to our clients and customers.

We are currently looking for an experienced Records Management Representative to support our Auto Insurer/Employer (IE) team! The Records Management Representative performs data entry responsibilities, gathers and prepares data for inputting into the electronic medical record, maintains the electronic retrieval system, and performs cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification as required.

The Records Management Representative also responds to requests to release patient information coming in from various sources including patients, law firms, insurance companies and other health care providers, ensuring that all requests to release patient information are completed in accordance with the Hospital’s guidelines and as required by law.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of High School education required
  • Completion of related College diploma and/or certificate (Health Records, Medical Record Management, Medical Office Administration) preferred
  • One (1) year or more of related experience required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Experience in working with Electronic Medical Records required (Telus Practice Solutions Suite preferred)
  • Exercise initiative and good judgement with the ability to multitask
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
  • Ability to function independently with a high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies.
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
