Senior Backend Engineer, GraphQL

Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for their GraphQL infrastructure, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the platform. Ideal candidate should have experience in large-scale distributed backend systems and proficiency in programming languages like Go.

Skills

5+ years designing large-scale distributed backend systems
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (preferably Go)
Experience with high-impact project identification and execution
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure like Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Specific GraphQL backend experience (preferred)
Experience in complex data model structuring and implementation (preferred)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team to maintain Reddit's GraphQL infrastructure
Design and deliver solutions to enhance functionality and scalability
Investigate and optimize platform operations at scale
Provide feedback on technical and strategic direction
Mentor and support fellow engineers
Participate in on-call responsibilities
