Senior Backend Engineer, GraphQL
Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for their GraphQL infrastructure, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the platform. Ideal candidate should have experience in large-scale distributed backend systems and proficiency in programming languages like Go.
Skills
- 5+ years designing large-scale distributed backend systems
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (preferably Go)
- Experience with high-impact project identification and execution
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure like Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS, GCP
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Specific GraphQL backend experience (preferred)
- Experience in complex data model structuring and implementation (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team to maintain Reddit's GraphQL infrastructure
- Design and deliver solutions to enhance functionality and scalability
- Investigate and optimize platform operations at scale
- Provide feedback on technical and strategic direction
- Mentor and support fellow engineers
- Participate in on-call responsibilities
