About the Role


Redhorse Corporation is staffing a team to support the Department of Defense’s Acquisition Policy & Innovation (API) Directorate within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The API Directorate is an organization within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment) (OUSD(A&S)) subordinate to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Acquisition) (ASD(A)) and the Director, Defense Pricing. API is the OUSD(A&S) lead for enabling innovative acquisition approaches to deliver timely capabilities to the Warfighter. API iteratively develops, implements, monitors, and updates acquisition policies and business practices to support $2 Trillion in Warfighting capabilities and decision-making across multiple Acquisition Pathways: Urgent Capability Acquisition; Middle Tier Acquisition; Major Capability Acquisition; and Defense Business System Acquisition.

 

The Acquisition Pathway Policy Expert is a recognized industry expert with significant depth and breadth of knowledge capable of providing advisor and consultant services based on unique experience that has a significant level of technical value and return on investment. The SME is capable of supporting teams and/or working independently regarding very complex technical or programmatic issues usually related to complex weapons systems.


Required:
  • Executive level technical experience with 7 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Master’s Degree or higher in related field, equivalent experience/certification in a field relevant to the specific position, or substantial equivalent occupational experience
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Able to effectively brief Flag Officers, General Officers, Senior Executive Service members;
  • At least two years of experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Explorer, Edge, SharePoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Professional;
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance; able to obtain Top Secret.


Preferred:
  • Five or more years of experience developing systems acquisition (not contracting/ procurement) policies, regulations, guides, instructions, or handbooks.
  • Five or more years of experience supporting a Headquarters-level DoD organization such as an Agency, Joint Staff, Service, Component, Major Command, or Combatant Command.
