Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Mortgage Loan Coordinator II who will perform a variety of Total Member Experience related liaison, sales, and operational duties in the Mortgage Lending Department.


Essential Functions

Total Member Experience

• Intake new loan applications into Mortgage Cadence Loan Fulfillment Center (LFC) from Members via phone, walk-in, referrals from branches, other departments or other Loan Officers.

• Primary contact for Member walk-in traffic to Mortgage Lending Department.

• Respond to branch emails requesting Member walk-in’s and return calls with a sense of urgency.

• Establish initial rapport with the Member, reach agreement and understanding on mutual expectations, and communicate next steps with the Member on an as needed basis.

• Ability to structure loan scenarios based on Member’s financial goals and needs through application interview process that align with RCU mortgage products.

• Communicate and/or collect upfront list of needed documents based on Member’s application using pre-defined conditions or LFC Desktop Underwriter findings.

• Facilitate initial streamline refinance requests and deliver Member information to Lending Operations for fulfillment.

• Cross-sell RCU and RCUSG products and services

• Log-in to department phone queue during scheduled times.

• Upon receipt of daily Incomplete Loan report, review incomplete loan in LFC and determine next steps with Member with goal to complete the loan application or adverse action.

• Be the TME Ambassador to recognize areas of improvement for Member service and issues with processes within the MLD, offer solutions and/or suggestions for improvement.


Electronic Loan File Management

• Process and deliver, to Members, various regulatory notices, such as Reg B/10 Day, Statement of Credit Denial, Credit Score Disclosure, as necessary in order to remain compliant.

• Ensure confidentiality and safeguard sensitive Member financial information.

• Upload various loan documentation to virtual loan folders in a timely manner.

• Monitor Mail Mortgage Lending emails and scanned documents from branches and distribute as necessary.

• Assist loan processors with ancillary pre-closing loan verifications.


Projects

• Research and resolve Member or employee concerns as directed.

• Represent RCU in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

• Participate in various loan training modules provided by Redwood’s training and mortgage department by presenting or preparing materials.

• Provide support on an as needed basis to not only the mortgage lending department, but also to Consumer and Business lending departments that may include application input, Member communication, loan pipeline review on occasion, assist with community events involving mortgage lending external real estate sales group.


Licenses and Certifications
  • Ability to maintain a valid California driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in compliance with the requirements of Federal Law, including the SAFE ACT and NCUA part 761.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge in the use of Internet-based loan origination software.
  • Knowledge of real estate principles, practices, rules, regulations and sales.
  • Basic understanding of investor guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Skill in the operation of personal computers with intranet and Internet access, and office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with a diverse group of people including vendors and other Credit Union employees.
  • Ability to act independently and confidentially, using discretion and tact.
  • Ability to analyze situations and recommend workable solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work.
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment.


Physical Requirement
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.


The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, plus 1 to 2 years’ experience in mortgage lending industry or closely related field.


Compensation: Base starting range: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour commensurate with experience.

Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
