Position Overview:
SiteOne Landscape Supply (formerly John Deere Landscapes) is the nation’s largest distributor of nursery, irrigation, outdoor lighting, landscape supplies, fertilizers, turf protection products, grass seed, turf care equipment, and golf course accessories.
Come grow with us! This position is a Regulatory Specialist responsible for coordination of appropriate fertilizer, soil amendment, soil adjuvant, pesticide registrations for products and licensing of employees and branch locations as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position may undertake duties related to some or all of the following and/or other tasks that relate to the overall objectives of the Regulatory Department.
Safety Data Sheet Maintenance:

Review SDS documents and load information into UE for each regulated vendor product
-
Create new and revise current LESCO SDSs consistent with SiteOne Corporate standard operating procedures.

Work with category managers and suppliers to gather data needed to create new SDS for private labeled products.
Monitor required state and federal licensing for employees to ensure compliance and education are provided as needed:

Maintains Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) licenses for employees as required and monitors annual renewals.

Develops training for employees on SiteOne Restricted Use Pesticide RUP practices.
- Communicates information regarding regulatory requirements to employees to ensure compliance.
Maintain existing and create new product labels in order to ensure regulatory compliance:

Makes new and revised labels available for distribution in applicable states
- Develops, maintains, and revises existing labels for all regulated products, act as liaison to and maintain communication with manufacturers on changes
Ensure renewal of state annual registrations and registration of new products:

Monitors state and federal regulations to ensure product registrations are updated on an ongoing basis

Works with category management to register new products according to state and federal requirements
- May review International/Canadian requirements for product registrations in order to ensure compliance
Act as the point of contact for state regulatory agencies and review regulatory changes to ensure compliance:

Responds to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers, and employees in order to resolve issues

Build relationships with state representatives in order efficiently maintain registrations
- Reviews state regulations and develops practices and policies to ensure compliance; communicates policies to stores in order to ensure compliance
Monitor manufacturer and vendor compliance

Generate quarterly invoices in order to recoup deficiencies and fines from fertilizer manufacturer for noncompliance
- Notify quality control and sales when fertilizer products are out of compliance to take corrective action
- Work with vendors to ensure product state registrations are maintained and renewed on an annual basis
Ensure compliance with state reporting requirements

Completes monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual Tonnage reports for fertilizer and seed in order to meet state tax requirements

Monitors and reports adverse effects for pesticides as recorded

Develops Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) Sales Report for state reporting requirements and identifies discrepancies for correction

Qualifications:
Must have:

High School or secondary diploma or equivalent

Understanding of state laws and ability to interpret state guidelines

Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in an Agricultural Sciences discipline or equivalent experience-
Internal or external industry specific experience in relevant discipline (1 -3 years)
