The Reimbursement Associate supports the revenue cycle by reviewing documentation submitted by the office to the Billing Team for accuracy, completeness, and to ensure that it meets all billing standards to be billed to the payer. The documents reviewed include but are not limited to: clinical notes, time tickets, time cards, purchase orders, and authorizations, in both paper and electronic forms. The Reimbursement Associate will make the appropriate edits per their findings and will place shifts on a billing hold, if the office is waiting for specific billing requirements to be met, such as obtaining an appropriate order, authorization, or Patient signature. The Reimbursement Associate may also complete basic claim submission tasks and other duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Verifies weekly timecard packages for accuracy

Reviews all notes, regardless of format, for compliance and completeness before claims submission

Makes appropriate edits, including modifying shifts according to a payer’s rounding rules

Places appropriate shifts on a billing hold and release holds when appropriate

Communicates with the Reimbursement Specialist and/or branch office regarding edits, corrections and holds

May complete basic claim submission tasks

May complete some administrative functions such as the sorting, collection, preparation and delivery of mail, completing write-off forms, running reports, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required
-
Must have strong attention to detail and can remain focused for long periods of time

Possess quick and accurate Alpha/Numeric data entry skills.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Web-enabled applications is required.

Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
