Remo Health is looking to hire a Geriatrician, this is a full time position and is 100% remote! This is a crucial role that will help us continue on our mission to transform the standard of dementia care.
Remo is building the new standard of dementia care. As a virtual provider, our expert clinical team designs care around patient and family needs (instead of a 1-size fits all approach). Our care model empowers patients to age in place, surrounded by those they love. We also empower family caregivers with a vibrant community of other caregivers, expert content, and tools to manage the path ahead. With Remo, patients and caregivers get the support they deserve and providers get the job satisfaction they crave.
Remo is on a mission to fundamentally change the dementia care journey for patients and their caregivers. We strongly believe that an integral part of this mission is a meaningful and sustainable clinician experience. Working at Remo, you will have more time with patients and families, less administrative work, extensive support from a full interdisciplinary team, a custom electronic medical record designed around care and not billing, and protected time for inbox management. We believe that technology should facilitate and not replace the human connection at the heart of clinical medicine. We want you to be able to bring the empathy and humanity–what brought you into neurology–to work every day. And we want to nurture that.
Our Geriatrician will report directly to our Medical Director and play an integral role in our ability to pursue our mission by leading the clinical team. The leader in this role will evaluate and manage a panel of follow-up patients with cognitive disorders and their caregivers, oversee other members of the clinical team, lead educational efforts, and work closely with the CMO on hiring and training new providers as we expand to new markets. We are looking for a behavioral neurologist who believes that the current standard of dementia care is unacceptable and is passionate about building better care models for patients living with dementia and their family caregivers.
Evaluate and manage a panel of patients with cognitive disorders and their caregivers, with the full support of a multidisciplinary team (pharmacist, social worker, care navigator, neuropalliative care doctor, etc.)
Identify areas of improvements in the care model and technical platform so we can continue to improve quality of care, dyad satisfaction, and the provider experience
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Operations function to deliver on our key clinical KPIs — e.g. quality targets, utilization metrics, patient/provider satisfaction, etc.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to provide memory care training and oversight of new hires
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to develop, implement, and maintain a curriculum of regular educational conferences for clinical providers (e.g. clinical case conferences, neuroradiology rounds, guest lecturers)
Provide oversight of other clinical providers (e.g. RNs, NPs) by staffing questions that arise requiring neurologic expertise
Have completed an ACGME accredited neurology residency
Have expertise in dementia and related cognitive disorders
Have experience with and enjoy working in multidisciplinary care teams
Want to work remotely and see patients by telemedicine
Live for taking a holistic approach to the care of patients with dementia and caregivers
Are passionate about educating families and other clinical providers
Think systematically, breaking down complicated problems into manageable initiatives.
Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate challenges with creativity and flexibility
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
Board Certification in Neurology
Behavioral neurology fellowship training or other substantial expertise in dementia or related cognitive disorders
A strong understanding of strategies to prevent cognitive decline and dementia, diagnostic approaches to dementia subtypes, interpretation of neuroimaging and neuropsychological evaluations, non–pharmacological and pharmacologic approaches to symptom management, and advanced care planning for neurodegenerative disease
A proven track record of successfully leading clinical teams
A passion for building and iterating on a novel care model and technical platform
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals
Believe that the current state of dementia care is unacceptable and want to build a better care model for all the families who need it
This job is 100% remote, providing schedule flexibility.
There is no requirement for inpatient time or call.
You will be working within your chosen specialty of behavioral neurology
This is a salaried position (there is no RVU target) with generous vacation, parental leave, and benefits.
You will have a strong voice in how we do things. Unlike the typical experience of feeling like a peg in a hospital machine, you have agency at Remo. If the EMR could be improved, we want to know. If you think a particular type of patient needs a service we are not yet providing, we want to know. Our goal is to continuously improve care delivery and you will be involved closely in that process.
You have the opportunity to do a mix of clinical work, education, and quality improvement work. The allocation can evolve over time depending on your interests.
We are passionate about removing administrative and other unfulfilling work from your plate–we want you to be able to focus on your patients and projects
If you are interested, you can be involved in research efforts and publications without needing to apply for grants.
You can be at the cutting edge of care delivery, getting unique insight into the growing area of value-based care and innovative payment models.
