Overview:

Alta Contracting, a leading demolition company, is seeking a skilled and dependable Class A Driver to join our team. This role is vital for transporting equipment and materials to and from demolition sites safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a proactive approach to handling various logistical challenges.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class A trucks to deliver equipment and materials to demolition sites and other locations as needed.

• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in excellent working condition.

• Plan and execute the most efficient routes to optimize delivery times and fuel usage.

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.

• Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.

• Keep a clean driving record and follow company safety protocols.

• Communicate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timely delivery and pickup of equipment and materials.

• Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials, ensuring that all items are handled with care.

• Address any issues or delays promptly and report them to the appropriate personnel.

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs as needed.

• Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the maintenance team in a timely manner.

• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, both inside and out.

• Complete and submit all required documentation, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and mileage reports.

• Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, including any discrepancies or issues encountered.

• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Driving Skills: Proven experience operating Class A trucks with a clean driving record.

• Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of safety regulations and practices for transporting heavy equipment and materials.

• Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with team members, site supervisors, and clients.

• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in completing documentation and ensuring proper load security.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected issues and provide practical solutions on the road.

• Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage delivery schedules and routes efficiently.

Other Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL license and a clean driving record are required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in a similar driving role is a plus.

• Must be able to pass background checks and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving and to lift and move heavy items as needed.

• Adequate vision and hearing for safe driving and effective communication.

• Capability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading equipment.
