This position is in the Office of the Controller at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This position is responsible for providing access to financial data from the University's financial system (Workday) by running and creating reports for internal and external use. This position also serves as a liaison with the campus departments on training how to run reports and creating new reports as necessary. This position will also oversee the Office of the Controller's website for updates, announcements, and other related duties.

Report Writing 55 %

• Create custom financial reports for the Office of the Controller and Budget office.
• Create reports for general campus departmental, as well as managements use
• Create reports needed to adhere to external reporting requirements
• Assist IT in managing office connect access or additional roles needed to access reports.
• Be the primary point of contact for questions on creating reports in office connect and worksheets.
• Sit down with Office of the Controller staff at the beginning of each fiscal year to update any already created reports and create a timeline on when reports for the upcoming year will be completed.
• Create a master list of custom reports and what access is needed to run each report.

Report Training 20 %

• Partner with Campus Liaison position to t rain campus on how to run and use reports.
• Create procedures for creating/ modifying reports in Workday .
• Interface with campus departments , Principal Investigators, and Information Technology when there is technical issue with reports or access to reports.

Website 10%

• Updates Office of the Controller's website and works with various departments within the Office of the Controller to ensure information is accurate , timely , and relevant

Misc. 15 %

• Backs up Systems Accountant on Integrations and Workday testing
• Backs up the Financial Reporting Accountants on financial statements and journal entries, etc.
• Other Duties as assigned

Require d Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with Excel to include developing formulas and sorting data.
• Experience with multi-tasking and problem solving.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Previous experience programming or creating and analyzing reports.
• Accounting Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with writing Workday composite, matrix etc reports as well as experience with
• Workday Office Connect and worksheets
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business, finance, STEM, or related field (Full-time professional accounting experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree in accounting with one year of education is equal to two years of professional accounting experience)

Salary for Announcement:

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $49,900 - $62,400. The full salary range for this position is $49,900 - $74,900.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
