What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent math and science skills
- Certification: N/A
- Experience: Experience with molecular biology techniques and use of mouse models and some histology desirable. Willingness to learn new techniques.
- Skills: Library research skills, able to trouble shoot simple technical problems related to research. Must be prepared to work with rodents. Experience with animal dissections and surgery. General molecular and biochemical techniques (PCR, western blotting, etc.). Cell culture. Viral transduction is desirable.
What you will do:
- Study biologic mechanisms underlying prostate diseases, specifically prostate cancer and benign hyperplasia
- Be involved in both in vitro and in vivo models and be responsible for handling and processing of human clinical samples
- Under moderate supervision, setting up and conducting experiments, troubleshooting techniques and developing and applying protocols
- Record and analyze data
- Perform and assist in general laboratory and research functions including ordering and storage of reagents and preparation of equipment
