A unique opportunity for a part time analytical Research Assistant to join our team at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a world leader in scientific and medical education and training. Specifically, the position is to assist in streamlining and organizing the daily activities of an exciting and high-paced project supported by an academic-industrial collaboration. The position is available immediately, and is based at the Mount Sinai’s main campus, which is located at Madison Avenue and 102nd Street, New York City with flexibility to work from home on occasion.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of lab-based molecular and cell-based techniques, and experience working in immunology, immuno-oncology or oncology at a preclinical level, preferably in both academic and industrial settings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Support a drug-screening program within an academic and industrial setting to fulfil industrial standards.

· Support generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitor adherence to and/or diversion from SOPs.

· Process organization and analysis of large data sets and samples.

· Prepare presentations, reports and materials.

· Performs other related duties.

Requirements:

· Education: Associates Degree in science (or related field) or HS/GED plus two years of related experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred degree in a biology/life science related discipline

· Experience: Two years in research environment

· Experience in data analyses techniques including, but not limited to those associated with the following assays: ELISA, flow cytometry, Western Blotting.

· Experience working within industry, including but not limited to the following: high throughput drug screening and analysis, preparation of SOPs, and an understanding of industrial standards and quality assurance in research.

· Familiarity of the drug development process.

· Strong analytical and organizational skills

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Proficiency working with the Microsoft Office Suite

· Experience in statistical analysis methodology and software (eg. Excel, Graphpad, SPSS, SAS)

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $41,999.85 - $54,442.67 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
