Rowan’s Field HR Business Partner (HRBP) will report the Director, Talent & Employee Experience.  The Field HRBP will be a crucial link between the Corporate HR team and employees and managers of Rowan’s Studio division.  This remote based position involves providing HR guidance and support to various levels of management (ASMs, SMs, AM, DMs, RGMs), aligning with corporate policies and objectives. The role encompasses the entire employee life cycle in our Studios, from recruitment to offboarding, and includes, but is not limited to, performance management, employee coaching and development, and disciplinary actions.  


This position, along with the entire HR team, will champion the company's culture, values & practices by maintaining effective collaborative relationships and taking pride in the company.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience successfully supporting general human resources functions and will have a desire to continue to grow their HR skill set.



What you'll be doing:
  • Be a strategic and trusted partner to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and field leadership team, providing guidance on how to navigate challenging employee related matters; be a thought leader who challenges the status quo while providing strategic and tactical HR counsel (these efforts will be done in partnership with the Director, Talent & Employee Experience when workload dictates)
  • Assist employees in problem resolution and be well versed in company policies, general benefits offered to eligible employees, and payroll related issues.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents that violate company policy or require an impartial point of view, providing recommended disposition and/or disciplinary action as may be warranted.
  • Support management in identifying organizational needs during budget planning as the business continues to grow and evolve.
  • Act as the key contact for new employees as they prepare to onboard after acceptance of offer letter as well as support the entire employee onboarding process.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience and partner with other HR team members and management to develop and implement innovative and lasting solutions.
  • Facilitate accurate employee data across field organization by ensuring all data changes are processed in a timely and accurate manner – inclusive of hires, promotions, status changes, terminations, etc.
  • Actively be part of the recruiting process for all field management positions, including stepping in and conducting first round interviews as business need dictates or by being part of an interview panel for key positions.
  • Manage HR reporting and analysis for the field organization, ensuring that keys data points all reported no less than monthly, sharing data and analysis with HR leaders as well as the CRO, CEO, and CFO.   
  • Support field HR communications such as policy, program, and benefits updates; change management communications; organizational announcements, etc. by collaborating with the Corporate HR team as well as CRO and CEO as communications require. 
  • Travel 10-15%
  • Other duties as assigned.


What you bring to the table:
  • 5+ years Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred; BA/BS, preferably in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years providing HR support to multi-state retail organization
  • Well versed in employee relations, mediation, progressive discipline, and handling difficult employment matters
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality given access and exposure to confidential and sensitive information;
  • Exemplifies high standards of honesty, integrity and discretion
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective decision-making skills and excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications strongly desired
