Job Description

Responsible for the creative execution of concepts and designs for retail circular pages, direct mail, and/or collateral material. This position will create concepts, design and execute retail and direct mail pieces whose messages are visually compelling; execute the creative strategy, and ensure that projects are completed on established schedule targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short-term and long-term goals of the department.
  • Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate them into overall work objectives.
  • Develops creative and graphic concepts (for web and print) in collaboration with the assigned team.
  • Follows projects throughout all stages of print production and/or online deployment.
  • Provides production support to produce technically correct, print-ready mechanicals for release.
  • Interacts regularly with creative leadership, creative partners, and other team members as needed for completion of assigned projects
  • Interprets marketing ideas and turns them into visual reality at a world-class level
  • Receives feedback from management and uses that feedback to grow skills Solves business challenges through marketing and smart creative design
  • Takes ownership of projects, and successfully executes through all stages of creative development on target, on time, and on budget
  • Maintain and enhance the client's identity by working creatively within the corporate Brand.
  • Understands the client's design needs and methodology
  • Effective communication with peers, senior management, and clients across all topics from business to creative.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in discipline related to function of work with 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Possesses a strong developing portfolio of imaginative work
  • Well-versed on Macintosh platform (OSX) and industry-standard applications: Adobe CC, with MS Office and HTML a plus
  • New ideas, great design sense, copywriting skills a plus
  • Organizational skills, adaptability, and composure under fire are equally important
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to build and maintain strong and effective client and internal relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to listen for understanding to execute the work according to the customers & needs
  • Strong project management skills, organizational skills, and time-management skills
  • Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know about decisions/actions/problems.
  • Must be able to modify communication style both formal and informal to match the appropriate level of the audience targeted

Additional Information

The national pay range for this role is $61,600 - $101,200 / year.

The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus tuition assistance, maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
