This organization offers opportunity for this individual to be part of a growing accounting department and develop processes to sustain flexibility as business needs change. Job responsibilities are subject to change based upon alignment of processes within this developing organization.What You Will do:• Monthly journal entries, closing activities and account reconciliations related to various Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Corporate Raytheon accounts, i.e., corporate allocations, insurance, worker’s compensation, general & auto liabilities, environmental liabilities, insurance allocations, etc.• Prepare month end reporting including miscellaneous supplementals and deliverables to support disclosures for 10-Q/10-K• Participate in process improvement activities related to all central accounting functions as required, i.e., journal entry automation, support finance transformation, other automation efforts.• Contribute to General Accounting by bringing innovative solutions within the knowledge base and work of the department.• Provide excellent customer service to Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Corporate including answering questions or ad hoc requests as required.Qualifications You Must Have:• This role typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, business or related field and 5 years of relevant experience gained in a corporate accounting setting or a Masters degree and 3 years of relevant experience• At least 3 years’ experience and knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)• At least 3 years’ experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment• Strong proficiency with MS Office Word and PowerPoint and Excel to include knowledge of : Pivot Tables, Power Querry, Data Validation, V-lookup, X-lookup and database reporting skills• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirementsQualifications We Prefer:• Knowledge of or experience with enterprise finance and accounting systems such as: SAP, and or HFM• CPA/MBA• Analytical, planning and organizational skills to problem solve and recommend comprehensive solutions and the ability to work independently as well as in a team• Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication skills, good business acumen and ability to brief levels of management• Ability to maintain a service-oriented demeanor with professionalism in sensitive and challenging situationsLocation/Type: This is a Hybrid position primarily based in Farmington CtWhat We OfferWhether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
