About Our Opportunity

The Rural 1st Loan Associate will be responsible for marketing, marketplace development, communication, relationship building and overall portfolio growth through a focused balance of sales, marketing and support in the consumer lending segment.

How You Will Spend Your Time

As a Rural 1st Loan Associate (RLA), you will originate consumer credit by assessing requests and obtaining required financial information to determine viability and profitability of the deal. Working collaboratively, you will lead the customer relationship, coordinating with other business segments as appropriate for additional business opportunities. The Rural 1st Loan Associate will also:

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers by providing consistent high-quality service that is timely, thorough, and responsive to the needs of different stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Rural 1st Loan Officers (RLO) to build productive relationships with current and prospective customers based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Use understanding of customer goals, credit strengths and opportunities to deliver value added, constructive financial information to the customer.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance or related field, preferred. Minimum 4 years of successful experience in financially related customer service or sales, loan processing or loan servicing.

Mental & Physical Requirements

This job requires the incumbent to have the ability to:

  • Engage in telephone and face-to-face conversation to serve customers and give and receive information from customers, staff, vendors, outside consultants and the public.
  • Use a computer and similar office technology and tools. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to job.
  • Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
  • Successfully interact with and represent the organization to customers, staff, officers, board members, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
  • Provide sound technical advice to customers and other staff in the subject field(s) related to this position.
  • Understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
  • Reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written material, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
