Supervise daily activities of a team within a function or campus. Responsible for direct coaching and discipline of employees.
Uses significant independent judgment and familiarity with the field to perform work. Responsible for administration of various
complex function or campus programs and serves as the lead of a group of employees. Develops policies and procedures and
oversees the implementation and execution of them. Typically required to complete tasks of subordinate-level roles, when
needed.
Position Summary
Provide supervision and managerial expertise necessary to assure the systems are properly installed, operating at
optimum efficiency, and maintained to assure maximum life and reliability. Serves as the SAISD technical subject
matter expert and establishes policy as it relates to the operation and maintenance of all electronic and related
systems. Train, plan, coordinate, and implement procedures received from the city's architectural, engineering
and fire departments. Ensure the District’s life safety and security systems are functioning properly and maintained
in a cost-effective manner by ensuring that regular preventive maintenance and repairs are performed.
Instrumental in developing and implementing best practices through industry systems and processes/procedures.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Manage emergency repair to Access Control, Public Address, Clocks & Bells, and Life Safety & Security
Systems.
2. Manage work assignments and supervises security integrators and personnel who install, program,
maintain, inventory, and repair all security/surveillance system equipment specifically including security
access control systems, alarm systems, emergency phone/intercom system, panic alarms, CCTV security
system and associated hardware/software, security data communication equipment and electronic key
system.
3. Oversee, organize, and maintain critical and confidential physical security related records, inspection
documents, service reports and purchase orders.
4. Manage and monitor, services, programs, preventative maintenance, and provide technical support, and
assist with the installation of new/upgrades with Access Control, Public Address, Clocks & Bells, and Life
Safety & Security System equipment on a scheduled basis.

5. Develop formal preventative maintenance programs for all electronic systems, implement recurring
maintenance schedules, provide oversight to assure that completed maintenance meets minimum
standards for quality and follow up on delinquent actions.
6. Oversee outstanding open work orders, material requests and work completion by contractors.
7. Prepare written reports of actions and results for management.
8. Oversee training sessions on the use of Life Safety & Security Systems equipment and services.
9. Respond to users’ inquiries to assure proper usage of equipment.
10. Coordinate and implement city and state procedures and guidelines and ensures that they are followed.
11. Work to improve the Safety and Security of the system through improved practices and/or improved
technologies.
12. Maintain district vehicles, equipment and vehicle inventory as required.
13. Complete customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected
for this position.
