Business Support Apprentice

With 3,000 engineers and technicians worldwide, Safran Engineering Services (SES) provides added-value engineering services to the aerospace and ground transport industries, offering expertise and project management in domains like electrical systems, aerostructures, mechanical, software, systems engineering.

SES UK is based in Gloucester and we have a workforce of approx. 60 employees, contractors and colleagues over from other countries

We believe that future aircraft power systems will be hybrid-electric or full-electric, which is why we are working to develop and deliver advanced electrical solutions to help decarbonise flight. In addition to supporting the next generation of traditional aircraft, we are also working to support new VTol (Vertical Take-off and landing) products, light jets and urban mobility solutions that will revolutionise the way we fly.

To support the needs of a growing business, we are recruiting for an apprentice to join the team. You will undertake Business Administrator Level 3 over two years and it isdelivered by Gloucester College.

Your tasks will be varied as you will support HR, Finance, HSE, Purchasing, BusDev as well as wider company or Group projects. It is an excellent chance to be involved across the functional business departments.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

·       Support Purchasing administration:

o   Manage Purchase request creation in SAP for indirect purchases

o   Coordinate Purchase Request approval process

o   Manage Good’s Receipting

 

·       Support Human Resources activities:

o   Management of contractor hours

o   User access to multiple systems for starters/leavers

o   Visa admin support

o   Onboarding support

o   Monthly reporting

o   Payroll admin

 

·       Support HSE administration and activities within SES.

o   Resolution / Reporting of incidents raised

o   Ordering of HSE equipment

·       Support Finance administration and activities within SES.

o   User management in SAP

o   Overtime reporting

o   Absence reporting

o   Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable tasks

o   Credit Control tasks

o   Financial analysis

Your working hours are Monday to Thursday 8 hrs per day and 5hrs on a Friday. (8-4.30, 8-1 Fri). The role is predominantly office based for first 3m and then potential for hybrid working 2 days a week at home

Essential:

·       Experience of, or qualification in, business administration in HR/Finance/HSE/Sales

·       Minimum GCSE Grade 9-4/ A*-C in English and Maths

·       Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills.

·       Experience of working to deadlines.

·       Proficient administration, numerical and organisational skills.

·       A logical thinker and good communicator

·       Excellent attention to detail is a must

·       Demonstrates a passion for learning and continuous improvement

Desirable

·       College or University qualification HR/Finance/HSE/BusDeve

·       Analytical skills covering written, graphic, numerical & statistical information

·       Interest in general office administration and HSE support.

  • Early finish on a Friday (1pm)
