Sales Development Intern

About the Role:

Only one in three millennials own a credit card in the US today. We enable shoppers to budget purchases over time like a credit card, without the financial barriers and pitfalls. Shoppers paying with Sezzle are able to budget their purchase over time with interest-free installment plans, which in turn generates more sales for merchants.

As an intern, you will get to work with our sales, marketing, and merchant development teams, while working on real projects that will help grow our business.

About Sezzle:

Sezzle is a cutting-edge fintech company whose long-standing mission is to financially empower the next generation. Only one in three millennials own a credit card, and the vast majority of millennials possess a subprime credit score or no score at all. To address these problems, Sezzle has built a payment platform that increases purchasing power for consumers by offering interest-free installment plans at online stores. This increase in purchasing power for consumers leads to increased sales and basket sizes for the 40,000+ eCommerce merchants that currently work with Sezzle.

What you will learn:

  • How to work with existing customers to drive additional growth
  • How to bring leads through a sales cycle and close customers.
  • How to create compelling content that will be shared with customers and to the public.
  • How to effectively use cutting edge business tools like Google Apps, Slack, Salesforce.com, and SalesLoft to drive productivity.
  • Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.

What we Require:

  • A degree or working toward a degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or another related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Google Apps.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
  • Creative and Flexible.
  • Unafraid to communicate directly with customers.

We will go the extra mile to make sure you receive a learning experience that you'll never forget. You will become extremely knowledgeable in sales and marketing best practices. You will also learn how to work in a professional environment and will be working side-by-side with company leadership.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus

  • Adept at managing time

Details:
Start and end dates will be agreed upon mutually, but it is preferred that this person starts as soon as possible and continues to work with us into the school year. Full-time is preferred during the summer, with part-time hours available during the school year. We also treat internships as an extended interview, and the goal of every internship is to evaluate individuals as potential full-time hires once they are done with school. Pay is starting at $15 per hour + bonus.

Compensation

The compensation range for the role is $18-$22 / hour. Our ranges are very broad to accommodate all types of candidates and encourage growth. Specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and alignment with market data. Exceptional candidates may receive salaries outside of the posted ranges.
