SUMMARY
The Sales Reporting & Analytics Manager supports the Sales Team to deliver short and long term bottom line goals. This role will develop and coordinate sales processes and tools to deliver enterprise forecast accuracy improvements, including working cross functionally to ensure the integrity of the sales input for the S&OP process. They will be a key contributor to the annual planning efforts for sales and serve as the sales liaison to the annual operating plan build. The position will also be responsible for analyzing retailer and competitor trends and developing reporting tools that prepare the organization for improved strategic business decision-making.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Forecasting
  • Key input to the development and execution of the Sales Forecasting process, methodology and tools to improve forecast accuracy and drive incremental sales growth by determining key market needs/trends.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Analysts and Sales Managers to develop accurate forecast assumptions:
    • Baseline or Turn Volume – regular replenishment based on trend
    • New Item Forecasts – pipeline, ramp-up and inventory flow
    • Promotional Volume – predictive analytics to project promotional lifts
    • Inventory impacts – methodology for leveraging retail inventory to project short-term orders
  • Develop monthly demand forecast reporting that clearly outlines forecast changes, gaps, risks and opportunities
  • Represent forecast through the monthly S&OP cycle to cross-functional leaders and executives.
Annual Planning
  • Develop and lead the annual planning process for sales, including developing and training on planning tools and process
  • Build and maintain the enterprise customer plan, including account level growth and profitability targets and resource allocation
Retail Analysis
  • Determine and develop key sales reporting needs to better equip the sales team with real-time business intelligence, leveraging retailer POS, NPD and Profitero
  • Lead evaluation of new reporting tools and databases
  • Develop reporting to support planning of the sales fundamentals: Distribution, Promotion, Pricing, Shelf
  • Coach analysts to evaluate their business through the sales fundamentals in real-time
  • Develop executive-level retail reporting including presenting to the executive team
General responsibilities
  • Automate daily and weekly revenue updates
  • Deliver monthly executive reporting on Forecast, Actuals, and Gap closure opportunities regarding the month, quarter, and year.
  • Lead monthly S&OP process for Demand (Step 2)
  • Develop and maintain annual customer plans on a 2 year horizon
  • Determine and develop key sales reporting needs to better equip the sales team with real-time business intelligence, leveraging retailer POS, NPD and Profitero
  • Deliver weekly and monthly retail reporting cadence to key stakeholders
  • Develop reporting to support planning of the sales fundamentals: Distribution, Promotion, Pricing, Shelf
  • Direct line management of at least one team-member
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales or financial analysis
  • In-depth data analysis and reporting
  • Development and execution of financial tools/process to drive performance
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint experience
  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration with cross functional groups
  • Strong experience presenting to executives
  • Continuous improvement to processes and systems
  • Ability to execute and excel in high-paced organization
  • Prior experience in building global relationships and a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to deal with changing environments, tight timelines and multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with sales and retailer programs.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • MBA preferred

COMPUTER/TYPING SKILLS
  • Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word required
  • Knowledge of MS Access, Tableau and other data software preferred

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
