As a Sales Support Representative (SSR), you will be an integral part of a fast-paced sales team. The SSR is the main point of contact and a critical liaison for our customers from the quotation & acceptance of an order through its successful delivery and installation. A key component for this role is the ability to understand and maneuver through the quotation, order entry, and project management steps of our sales cycle with the goal of fulfilling the expectations of our customers and to ensure that the customer receives the right products, at the right location and time.

This position will be based in the US Southeast with a target location at our Charlotte, NC Factory.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Your primary responsibility is to support the Account Representatives, so the focus is on building and strengthening internal Siemens Energy and external customer relationships.
  • Managing quotation intake from client, input through the appropriate systems, working with the assigned business units and providing the final proposal for submittal to customer
  • Review the purchase order for completeness and conformance with the proposal. Once confirmed, will be responsible to input into the Order Entry system and initiate the process with the factory for acceptance and start of production, ensure receipt of order acknowledgement, and ensure correct sales credit assignment
  • Provide customer service by staying on top of pending orders and customer requests
  • Help troubleshoot problems with customer orders, customer accounts and other related issues
  • Update the salesforce.com (CRM tools) as requested for the accounts supported to ensure forecasting and progress on opportunities are updated and current
  • Work with the factory locations to monitor and update customer on status of the delivery while keeping the account manager informed
  • Work with account managers to create and implement targeted sales strategies
  • Ensure Account Manager is always kept up to date and aware of any issues related to meeting customer requirements.


What You Bring

  • Bachelors / Associates degree in business related field or engineering with 3+ years experience working in a combination of sales and/or field support roles.
  • Comfortable building relationships and communicating with all levels with customers and within our own company (i.e., business units, plant personnel, management, and salespeople)
  • Ability to coordinate and support outside sales personnel by contributing to the development of the sales cycle including proposals, order entry and delivery of material
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented while meeting deadlines
  • Communications skills (verbal, written and presentation); able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers and management
  • Self-motivated, driven, and resourceful to achieve goals independently within a virtual environment
  • Required amount of travel with the position is expected to be < 5%
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
