About Us Our Security team supports the unwritten fourth tenet of Slack’s mission: make people’s working lives more secure. The Security Operations Identity team leads all aspects of identity and access services for our internal Slack systems. This role will partner with every team in the company to design, develop, implement, and support our identity experience, with a focus on security, compliance, quality and craftsmanship. You will have an opportunity to work in all aspects of identity from single sign on, access management, multi factor authentication, identity governance and life cycle management. You will be able to design and develop solutions that are scalable and cutting edge, utilizing Slack as our preferred UI. What You Will Be Doing • Build and maintain Slack applications to provide a seamless user experience across Slack/Salesforce from disparate Identity systems. • Assist in the development, implementation and support of identity processes across myriad SaaS and internal tools and systems (Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint IdentityNow, AWS, Powershell, Terraform, etc.). • Implement workflows and scripts using various tools that automate business and administration processes. • Continuously monitor the health and effectiveness of the systems and processes. Work with peers and leadership to address issues and gaps promptly. • Use critical analysis of existing processes to identify opportunities to achieve efficiency in scale and resources. • Continuously evaluate existing tools and systems against business needs and scale. Assist in the design and implementation of new solutions and systems improvements. • Work with engineering and security teams to continuously improve the Identity program security and functionality. • Work with the team to implement usable processes to improve / ease reporting and audit practices for highest transparency. • Collaborate with peers across the organization to identify opportunities for tool and process consolidation across Slack and Salesforce. • Follow agile software development practices for any changes to the systems. • Use scripting skills to implement software as code when using cloud vendor software solutions and reduce risk of human input errors. • Produce clear documentation of processes and procedures for use across the enterprise. What You Should Have • 4 + years of experience working in a security or software engineering role • Dedication to security process engineering, automation and operational excellence: unit/integration/data quality tests, scripts, workflows. • Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell) • Experience working with Restful Web Services • Experience with using AWS Service Deployment models including Kubernetes, chef, ansible and terraform. • Knowledge of high-level programming languages (e.g. Go, node.js, Python, PHP, javascript). • Interpersonal skills (both verbal and written). The ability to explain technical concepts to designers, support, and engineers is no problem for you.
