About The Role: 

The SandboxAQ team is looking for a software engineer to help functionalize the next generation of cryptographic systems. A successful candidate will be comfortable with user space Linux development, network engineering, cryptographic algorithms and secure protocols. They will be part of a diverse team consisting of cryptographers, mathematicians, ML experts, and physicists, where they will play a key role in efficient and effective enablement of the technologies being developed. 

Core Responsibilities

• Participating in the development of our cryptographic framework/API/lib based on:
• Understanding of signatures, verification, encryption and other cryptographic primitives
• Design and implement various APIs along the cryptographic stack (from block ciphers to creating VPN tunnels)
• Cryptographic API development and corresponding best practices
• Implement cryptographic APIs in Rust 
• Manage the open source version of the library
• Provide guidance on software development scope, capacity and prioritization

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong understanding of basic cryptographic primitives
• Experience with any of system programming languages such as C/C++/Rust
• Experience with modern programming practices such as build systems, package managers etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Post-Quantum Cryptography
• Experience with at least one of the cryptographic libraries such as OpenSSL/BoringSSL, libsodium etc.
• Ability to work in a small team
