SECURITY ANALYST I, IS&T Information Security

Security Operations Center (SOC) Analysts are responsible for preventing, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity events at the university. This position is responsible for assisting with analyzing data from a myriad of data sources including but not limited to, Security Incident and Event Management systems, Endpoint Protection Platforms, Firewalls, Vulnerability scanners, and Intrusion Prevention & Detection Systems to detect and respond to potential security incidents and or vulnerabilities and to full fill related service requests. This position takes part in a duty cycle, monitoring tools on a daily basis, and provides 24x7 availability to respond to security events when required.

• B.A./B.S. preferred, or technical institute degree/certificate.
• Equivalent work experience can substitute for educational requirement
• Security-related certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, etc. are preferred, other certifications or certificates in other fields will also be considered for their specific relevance to this position
• Demonstrated working knowledge in a specific IT discipline, problem solving/troubleshooting skills and
• One to three years of relevant work experience.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must agree to a fingerprint-based background check as a condition of employment.
