The Senior Associate at Delta Associates is a key position within the firm. The primary role of this position is to serve as the principal supervisor of quarterly market reports, as well as an analyst and writer on other major projects. A successful Senior Associate ensures that project tasks are completed to the client’s full satisfaction and on time. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the various administrative functions of the firm. The successful Senior Associate will effectively manage client expectations, answer questions from clients and junior staff, and keep projects on an appropriate schedule.
In general, a qualified candidate for the Senior Associate position will have at least two years of directly relevant experience. Compensation is directly related to the amount of experience the candidate brings to the job, as well as to performance once on the job. Career path is for promotion to Vice President.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Serve as primary supervisor on quarterly market reports, with overall responsibility for research, analysis, and writing. Work with junior staff to ensure projects are completed well and on time. Give appropriate guidance and direction to junior staff.
  • Serve as primary author/project director on some engagements. In this role, Senior Associate will maintain contact with client, supervise staff, maintain project schedule, keep account manager informed of progress, keep accounting department informed of project schedule and work with accounting department on client collection issues.
  • Serve as mentor to junior staff by being available for questions and by participating in training.
  • As requested, assist senior management with administrative tasks, including recruiting/hiring, staff performance evaluations, office events, training, developing new methodologies and report templates, etc.
  • As requested, assist with promotional activities, including responding to requests for proposals, contacting potential clients, participating in industry/trade group events, writing articles, etc.
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • A master’s degree in a related field is desired.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a directly relevant field.
  • Good understanding of real estate market analysis concepts (supply/demand, comparable analysis, site evaluation, economic and demographic analysis, general market research, financial and quantitative analysis, vacancy/absorption, rents, etc.).
  • Preferred work experience with more than one property type.
  • Must have experience in a client-oriented environment that requires producing analytical reports on schedule.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Excellent basic Microsoft Office 365 software skills (minimum: Word, Excel; preferable in addition: Access, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent personal organization skills.
  • Reports to President
Remote: Periodic meetings at 1717 K Street, NW, Suite 1010, Washington, DC
