With preliminary direction from a licensed architect, participate and assist in all phases of architectural design for large-scale international multi-story, mixed-use, high-rise, corporate/commercial, retail, entertainment, workplace, and hotel projects including new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, parking garage, and unit plans; demonstrate creativity, foresight, and judgment in developing solutions and a thorough understanding of the project scope and the client’s project needs; coordinate work across multiple disciplines during multiple projects or project phases to achieve the highest level of project quality; develop documents for all design phases, and schematic design through construction documents including documenting architectural plans, elevations, and details in imperial or metric standards using 2D/3D modeling, AutoCAD, Rhino, Autodesk Revit, and SketchUp; create and innovate with strong conceptual design ability and integrate interdisciplinary criteria to effectively move forward the design of distinct portions of large-scale retail projects or entire retail projects of a small scale; research past projects, content development, rapid turnaround concept development, 3D digital modeling, along with presentation and proposal design and formatting; produce concept boards of images for feedback and approval from the Design Director and Clients, which capture the intended look and attitude and that reflect the branding and positioning with architecture, color, finish materials, and lighting; distinguish and consider the needs of different styles and looks and deliver those styles without letting personal preferences impact choices and fit retail projects' needs; produce design documentation, public presentations, workshops, and meetings with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Prezi, and free-hand sketching, and guarantee the ultimate results; assist in the selection, consideration, and review of materials for use on projects and mockups; meet with client representatives for presentations and workshops, analyze goals and needs, develop programmed space spreadsheets, narrative summaries, room data sheets, adjacency diagrams, and graphic content, and prepare the final developed project program document; participate in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies on a project and coordinate for client and agency review and approval; coordinate project data and transmission and all electronic communications utilizing project information management software including BIM system (including Revit and its plug-ins), AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino and its script-based plug-ins (including Grasshopper and Python), Enscape, Adobe suite, and Microsoft 360 related software; research domestic and international building codes and regulations, collect data and write reports, and complete presentations to incorporate research and data into architectural designs; perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials, and other aspects of design arise from client, agency, or public inputs; coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, landscape, traffic, parking, zoning, signage, curtain wall, facade maintenance, unique systems, and vertical transportation consultants to incorporate engineering systems into unified design for client and agency review and approval; analyze photos, sketches, cut sheets, and construction details of cabinetry and millwork, determine their fabrication technique, and then draw comprehensive details and sections; apply architectural principles to review all related shop drawings, samples, and mockups; coordinate BIM organization for all documents, develop and produce construction documentation, including documenting architectural plans, enlarged plans, elevations, sections, details, and axonometric drawings in imperial or metric standards; participate in quality assurance/quality control review sessions at project milestones; conduct site visits, and final inspections, and prepare punch lists and record drawings; review and prepare certificates of substantial completion, occupancy, and final completion.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Architecture (5 years) or foreign equivalent and 3 years of experience to include participating and assisting in all phases of architectural design for large-scale international multi-story, mixed-use, high-rise, corporate/commercial, retail, entertainment, workplace, and hotel projects including new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, parking garage, and unit plans; demonstrating creativity, foresight, and judgment in developing solutions and a thorough understanding of the project scope and the client’s project needs; developing documents for all design phases, and schematic design through construction documents including documenting architectural plans, elevations, and details in imperial or metric standards using 2D/3D modeling, AutoCAD, Rhino, Autodesk Revit, and SketchUp; producing concept boards of images for feedback and approval from the Design Director and Clients, which capture the intended look and attitude and that reflect the branding and positioning with architecture, color, finish materials, and lighting; making corrections as indicated by Project Architect and Design director to in-progress sets of design development and construction documents; performing free hand sketching of perspectives, axonometrics, space plans, elevations, and details for presentations; design development and presentations using Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Prezi to communicate architectural design concepts with clients and guarantee the ultimate results; assisting in establishing task schedules and manpower requirements consistent with the project agreement, including identifying project requirements and projecting long-term needs; producing site analysis studies with site photography, code research, base drawings, diagrams, and software analysis aids (including Rhino + Grasshopper, Sefaira, Spacemaker, and other related site analysis tools); translating clients' functional and spatial requirements based on professional knowledge of structures into feasible design solutions, incorporating custom detailing, structural engineering principles, and building systems into architectural designs; providing alternative site design studies requiring site plans, site sections, 3D digital massing, and physical site modeling; setting up the basic design package layouts by using Adobe inDesign / Microsoft PowerPoint and other for team members to create design presentations for clients; providing material and product research from material library and analysis appropriate for project requirements and client’s satisfaction; coordinating conceptual design drawings with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), structural, and lighting consultants to incorporate engineering systems into architectural designs to produce construction documentation and secure client and regulatory approval; assisting in staging and installing on the project site with selected furniture, other accessories, and fixtures based on the design strategy and client’s requirements.
The salary range is $61,194 to $73,819.20 per year.
