Senior Director - Order To Cash General Process Owner

Responsibilities:

This is an instrumental role in creating and protecting value for Finastra. You will be the Global Process Owner (GPO) of the entire Order to Cash (“OTC”) value chain for our Global customers who generate approximately $1bn of billing and revenue annually.

The role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer (250 people) and is a key senior leadership role within the broader Finance team (450 people). The role will lead the revenue assurance, contract lifecycle management, contract administration, billing, collections and revenue accounting teams (50 people).

The role is expected to completely transform this process through a bold reset of structure, process and KPI management with critical outcomes being elimination of any billing escalation backlog, contract processing backlog, missed billing and unaccounted revenues, all of which will lead to a step change in the working capital for Finastra.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Your responsibilities and deliverables as the GPO for OTC will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leading a large team through a significant change program: transforming team structures and implementing new ways of working
  • Protect and grow value to Finastra – striving to eliminate billing and revenue leakage
  • Identifying opportunities for efficiencies to optimize time to value, thereby unlocking material working capital
  • Overseeing relationships at all levels, and creating engagement and development for a strong global OTC team, building a reputation as a singular force for good in customer experience and working capital generation
  • Designing and deploying career frameworks for the team to increase staff morale and retention, to include comprehensive onboarding, training materials, process maps and clear pathways for succession planning
  • Overhauling KPIs to drive focus and performance and unify the intent of a global team
  • Ensure strong quality and control measures are in place over data in all areas of the OTC chain, and any gaps identified are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Lead reconciliation frameworks across the value chain ensuring all orders are accounted and prepared to an “audit ready” standard
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders to continuously improve the operating effectiveness and efficiency of the OTC function and provide regular enablement sessions.
  • Partnering with our system teams to ensure that changes to systems are captured, logged and tested prior to deployment

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is a natural leader who can inspire a large global team and clearly articulate a path forward and possesses an exceptional EQ
  • Has an extremely high “say/do” ratio and delivers consistently high volumes of high-quality outputs
  • An “executive ready” presenter who can clearly articulate (verbally and in writing) what is going on and what changes are needed
  • A problem solver who enjoys puzzles and approaches enterprise scale challenges with courage
  • Enjoys and can readily fluctuate between high level and extremely detailed processes to truly uncover value gaps and overhaul processes
  • Enjoys working in accounting systems and is comfortable reeling off financial KPIs (DSO, Aged AR, Leakage %)
  • Can quickly identify issues in process, data or technical functionality and can help resolve these
  • Can provide training and presentations on complex system landscape in an understandable way across various forums and levels of the organization

Required Experience:

  • A chartered accountant with at least 15 years post qualification experience with all aspects of the OTC end to end financial processes and of relevant systems and tools
  • Has delivered large scale transformation projects in global businesses (at least $1bn of revenue)
  • Demonstrable career progression and leadership of large (over 30) globally dispersed teams
  • In depth working knowledge of accounting system ERP, billing engines and revenue engines such as Salesforce, Zone Advance Billing and NetSuite
  • Relevant experience working as part of a project team implementing or optimizing accounting systems
  • Controls design and implementation in either a FTSE100 listed or SOX compliant entity
