Senior Manager, Revenue

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Revenue to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career. 

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll work with the Revenue accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of revenue and work with cross-functional teams to manage financial risks. Reporting to the Director of Revenue, you'll lead revenue recognition for the Evidence business which includes review of monthly close activities performed by the senior accountant, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with IFRS 15. You’ll also oversee billing and collections for the Evidence business. In addition, you'll:

  • Identify, research, analyze and document complex revenue recognition issues and successfully communicate position to the Director of Revenue, Controller, and cross-functional non-accountants.
  • Prepare financial analyses and technical memos (e.g., fair value analyses of all product offerings, ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions, documentation of revenue policies).
  • Work with parent company to provide accurate reporting and support during financial reporting periods, specifically around revenue and intercompany transactions. 
  • Partner with the cross-functional Evidence stakeholders to review contracts from an accounting perspective pre-sale to determine whether there are terms that impact revenue recognition and/or successful operational execution, as well as how best to mitigate financial risk. 
  • Be responsible for review of the billing process at the inception of the contract, timely customer receivable billings on an ongoing basis, and management of collections with the business. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of deferred revenue and unbilled accounts receivable balances.
  • Drive continuous operational process improvements, including design and documentation thereof, as well as effective monitoring of internal controls with ultimate goals of shortening month-end close, ensuring efficiency in day-to-day operations, and mitigating financial reporting risk.
  • Lead and manage new business integrations into QTC processes and systems
  • Ensure appropriate application and collection of sales and use tax to Evidence customer contracts
  • Work closely with IT/systems teams to drive key system initiatives and updates as well as drive change to current systems to improve accuracy and efficiency, as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (Legal, Sales, Go-to-Market Analytics, FP&A, Business Development) to improve existing processes and support business needs.
  • Lead special projects, as identified.

Who You Are

You're a detail-oriented self-starter with 5-8 years of accounting experience, adept in the application of ASC 606 or IFRS 15. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact. 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • You have a Active CPA license 
  • You have 5-8 years of experience
  • You are experienced in the application of ASC 606 or IFRS 15
  • You have strong analytical skills and leans towards challenging the status quo
  • You are a strong self-starter with the ability to think creatively, solution unexpected issues and work independently to meet deadlines
  • You are proficient with technical research and takes initiative to determine accounting impact
  • You have strong organizational skills and strong time management skills and ability to prioritize competing priorities appropriately
  • You have excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills
  • You are passionate about healthcare and fighting cancer

  • You have big 4 or national public accounting firm experience
  • You have experience with Netsuite ERP and Salesforce
  • You have previous experience with a Life Sciences and/or SaaS company
