Job Summary
The Technology Business Management Office (TBMO) provides our technology senior leaders with the knowledge to manage and communicate the cost, quality and value of technology services. In addition, this team helps to drive and support the associate engagement within the technology organization and helps to tell our story through data and metrics. The team supports a wide range of areas in IT such as engagement, communications, planning, development and facilitation of key IT meetings and events, change management, IT leadership development, education, overall technology scorecard(s), contractor administration, technology onboarding, and IT expense management, through a partnership with leadership and finance.

The Senior Manager, TBMO will focus on multiple areas within the TBMO and will be responsible for driving, developing and leading those areas within IT&O. Since the TBMO is part of the Chief of Staff function, the assignments in this role are often confidential in nature and may include work for Board members and the office of the CEO, and require a high degree of accuracy under tight deadlines. Additionally, this role may need to handle a substantial number or frequent, daily ad hoc requests. This role interacts with all levels, including senior/executive level leadership, not only within IT, but also with our partners outside of IT.

Essential Job Functions:
Department Operations and Relationship Management - Build, maintain and utilize networks of relationships with leaders and business partners. Approach problem solving creatively, emphasizing a solutions-oriented approach to accomplish the role and assignments. Socialize complex issues concisely to an array of constituents. Operate tactically in the moment, unencumbered by process, protocol, or formal roles and responsibilities, by leaning in and leading in the absence of others. Understands the needs of the business, IT department, and associates and is able to balance this in influencing decision-making. Evolve the technology contractor administration function, to provide greater visibility for our leaders to our contractors who support our business, as well as identify areas in which we can provide consistency with processes related to our contractors. Develop technology business policies and processes, as needed; help to identify where we may need to update and create a new technology business processes. Key partner with our Risk and Global Audit teams.
Leadership - Manage a team and leads department functions that may include expense management, communication, contractor administration, technology onboarding, culture, change management, risk management and people operations. Partners with Director, Chief of Staff to develop overall strategy for the TBMO, including strategic planning and processes, will independently build and execute on individual program strategies applicable to these functions. Lead, coach, motivate, challenge and provide managerial guidance to the team. Recognize training opportunities and communicate to team to enhance growth and development opportunities. Solve problems and make decisions with sound judgement. Provide continuous feedback and complete formal performance evaluations as directed by the organization. Value associate recognition and celebrating the accomplishments of individual team members as well as the overall team. Lead direct reports and influence other leaders/associates to accomplish company initiatives. Create and facilitate leadership development opportunities within technology. Reinforce the leadership behaviors and values of our organization through this ongoing development.
Reporting / Continuous Improvement / Process Development - Identify key metrics for the areas of support and look for opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Determine repeatable processes for areas, and create and share those processes.
Expense Management - Manage and control expenses, as appropriate. Lead by example by approaching expense management with a “one IT team” approach. Collaborate with Finance partners on the major milestones and approach for the annual budget process. Closely collaborate with IT leaders, Finance, Strategic Workforce Planning, as well as the People & Culture team, to ensure all are in alignment with position management and approval process, while ensuring compliance to the technology payroll budget.
Communication - Provide open and transparent communication with direct reports. Communicate both verbally and in writing at all levels within and outside the technology organization. Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to develop, plan and deliver large-scale meetings and events. Consult with senior leaders on associate communication needs or issues. Ensure department strategy and associate engagement needs are properly communicated within the technology team. Develop various types of communications and presentations, as necessary.
Projects - Lead and support Technology and enterprise-wide projects, as needed. Manage, develop and continuously iterate our IT scorecard, enabling the Chief of Staff to tell our story through data and metrics.
Change Management - Lead team (both direct team and technology team) through change. Develops and executes the IT change management strategy. Drive and measure change across key initiatives.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
  • Normal office environment.
  • May be required to travel at times.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience leading work (projects, matrixed leadership, mentoring, oversight, influencing others, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in banking, credit card, retail industry or communications.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in business / project management or related area of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience presenting to and communicating with executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, communication, finance or information technology.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of people in a professional setting
  • Experience or knowledge of risk management.
  • Experience with the IT financial management
  • Experience with contractor administration (managing contractor administration preferred)
  • Experience with technology onboarding and off boarding
  • Experience building out dashboards or scorecards.
  • Experience working in Tableau or MicroStrategy or equivalent tool.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective listening skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across organizations, on a global scale.
  • Must have strong relationship management-Ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.
  • Knowledge of approaches and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
  • Ability to lead and influence others.
  • Ability to drive and implement strategy
  • Must have strong analytical skills
Typical Starting Range:
$130,800.00 - $237,100.00
Full Salary Range for position:
California:$150,400.00 - $296,400.00
Colorado:$130,800.00 - $249,000.00
New York:$143,800.00 - $296,400.00
Washington:$137,400.00 - $272,600.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.
Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
