Senior Process Engineer

Location: Trafalgar Square, London (Occasional travel inside the UK may be required).

Reporting To: Engineering Manager

Hours of Work: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive

Job Summary

Are you a proactive and motivated Chemical/Process Engineer with 7 - 10 years’ experience and an interest in the UK storage and energy market? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of talented process engineers at a small but growing international organisation who are leading the way towards a cleaner, more efficient, and secure energy future.

As a senior member of the process engineering team, you will primarily be responsible for the production and development of process engineering deliverables for a range of projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical capabilities and experience facilitating and participating in process safety studies. They will be a logical thinker with the capability to quickly analyse a problem and deliver a practical solution. They will have the ability to pick up new concepts rapidly and work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • MEng Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering

Desirable

  • IChemE Chartered Member

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Strong foundation in thermodynamics.
  • Process safety experience including participation in and/or facilitation of safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel & Word).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Sound report writing skills and ability to prepare, comprehend and communicate engineering and technological documents.
  • Process modelling experience (Unisim, Aspen HYSYS, Aspen +, MATLAB, PRO/II etc).

Desirable

  • Process plant commissioning and operating experience an advantage.
  • Experience relating to performance testing of process plant an advantage.
  • Experience working on projects relating to energy or energy storage industry desirable.
  • Experience in industrial gases industry an advantage.
