The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.
Veritas is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our team focusing on achieving FedRAMP compliance. The candidate should have a strong understanding and experience with developing and implementing quality plans, documenting tests, identifying faults, reviewing QA reports, and most importantly, ensuring compliance with FedRAMP requirements.
The candidate should also have a basic understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and software development best practices. In additional, the candidate should have experience and understanding with achieving and maintaining FedRAMP authorization. This role will work closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and management to attain and maintain FedRAMP authorization. The individual will play a role in evaluating compliance, ensuring secure architecture, and creating documentation and architecture diagrams.
Responsibilities
Play an instrumental role on the team in attaining and maintaining FedRAMP compliance
Develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality, and ensure compliance with FedRAMP
Design and implement tests, debugging and defining corrective actions
Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
Design, develop and execute automation scripts
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Help conduct tests before and after releases
Help monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve quality issues
Ensure software design and code is secure and in compliance with FedRAMP
Create clear and concise documents, especially architecture diagrams
Develop a solid understanding of the product to speak fluently with consultants, certification agencies, and internal stakeholders
Essential Basic Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience work experience in software quality assurance
At least 2 years experience with FedRAMP and Continuous Monitoring
At least 3 years experience with Cloud providers such as Azure or AWS
Understanding or prior experience with the FedRAMP process
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools processes and development cycles
Hands-on experience in automating scripts using tools such as Selenium
Basic fluency in a modern object-oriented programming language, especially C# and .NET
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Basic experience developing with HTML, JavaScript, and web development frameworks such as Angular and jQuery
Experience working with relational databases and SQL
Basic experience with Web services development (SOAP, REST)
Knowledge and experience in developing for highly scalable services
Knowledge and experience with Windows Server-based services and webapps
Knowledge and experience with Cloud infrastructure best practices and solutions with large-scale cloud providers like Azure or AWS
Strong knowledge and experience with cyber security principles and practices, including vulnerability scanning and remediation, firewall configuration, intrusion detection and prevention
Strong scripting and automation expertise, using PowerShell, Python, or an equivalent language
Understanding of regulated industries and compliance requirements, preferably FedRAMP, ISO, and/or SOC2
Experience working with large-scale enterprise systems
Experience working with remote teams across the world and time zones
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to create clear, concise documentation and architecture diagrams4
Experience with working in an agile environment
Strong plus: prior FedRAMP Moderate, HIGH, IL5 assessment experience
CA, CO, NY & WA remote - $110,00 – $179,500
