You'll be working as part of a small but essential team making important decisions and improvements to our infrastructure. You'll work closely with the data engineering team and be supporting initiatives that span across their various applications from the ground up. You'll get the opportunity to work with many other talented individuals and feel that you're making an impact in the work that you're doing.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of CI/CD around various data centric applications.
- Leverage infrastructure-as-code and AWS services to evolve our current infrastructure to be self healing and auto-scaling.
- Separating our data production environment into production and staging/development.
- Monitor the performance of databases and related systems and take proactive measures to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure that applications are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability, while also adhering to security best practices.
- Write infrastructure-as-code in such a way that it can be leveraged across multiple applications.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for deploying and managing databases and related systems.
- Design, deploy, maintain, and scale databases and related systems in AWS and Snowflake.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a primary focus on security and database-related systems.
- Hands on experience with software provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc)
- Expert-level knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure, including EC2, EKS, IAM and RDS.
- Experience building, deploying, and modifying CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
- Familiarity with NewRelic or other similar APM tools.
- Strong scripting skills in one or more of the following: Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby.
- Experience with database clustering, replication, and backup and restore strategies.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing them in a DevOps environment.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Snowflake is a big plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a primary focus on security and database-related systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure, including EC2, EKS, IAM and RDS.
- Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, docker).
- Experience building, deploying, and modifying CI/CD pipelines in Gitlab.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- All roles at SmartAsset are currently and will remain remote - flexibility to work from anywhere in the US.
