Senior Software Engineer, AI

AI Research Engineer

Co-located in Silicon Valley, Seattle and Beijing, Baidu Research brings together top talents from around the world to focus on future-looking fundamental research in AI.

IDL (Institute of Deep Learning) is committed to conduct fundamental research and practical applications on deep learning, computer vision, text-to-speech synthesis, simultaneous translation, language understanding, medical AI and bio-informatics, and innovative applications.

We are looking for research engineers with strong passion in applying AI technology and make an impact on the real world. In our team, Research Engineers and Research Scientists work closely to solve challenging problems.

Job Responsibilities:

Be a highly technical coder.
Design and develop software dealing with next generation media production pipeline.
Participate in cutting-edge research and applications in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Work with latest AI algorithms and research, experiment possible use cases.
Work with containers and Kubernetes on application/microservices deployments and managements

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least have 2+ year relative work/research experience.
Extensive experience writing clean and efficient Python/Golang code, with good use of standard algorithms, data structures, and libraries.
Ability to write clean, efficient code and maintain the overall health of the code base

Preferred Qualifications:

MA/MS/PHD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related technical field.
Experienced in C++, web programming.
Computer system experiences.
Practical experience in NLP, CV.
Machine learning/Neural Network project experience.
Solid distributed system, GPU programming, Video processing experiences.
Experienced with container and Kubernetes
Experienced with video/media production programming
Bilingual in Mandarin preferred
