What You’ll Do

Hungryroot is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing Mobile team. This engineer needs to specialize in Android development. As a sr. Android developer, this person will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, reliable, and maintainable mobile applications for the Android platform. This individual must be an expert in the Android SDK and be knowledgeable in Kotlin programming languages to write clean, efficient code. This engineer will work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features and make improvements to the Hungryroot app. This role will also include troubleshooting and debugging of any issues that arise in the app. This engineer must also provide ongoing maintenance and support.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, reliable, and maintainable mobile applications for the Android platform using Kotlin.
• Work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features and improvements to the app.
• Troubleshoot and debug any issues that arise in the app and provide ongoing maintenance and support.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, and be involved in the development and review of technical designs and architecture.
• Participate in code reviews, technical meetings and project planning meetings.
• Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest development technologies and best practices in the Android ecosystem.

Why We Need You

• Minimum of 5 years experience working on Android apps
• Experience working with OOP, Kotlin, Layout Editor, OkHttp, REST, unit testing, git/gitflow/CI
• Good grasp of computer science concepts, common design patterns, good engineering practices, and frequent real world pitfalls.
