Agilysys is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer interested in joining a high performing team! We are looking for top engineering talent to help the development of our SaaS product and to continuously raise the bar on our operational excellence and engineering practices. Agilysys is a leader in the hospitality solutions industry and our Software Engineers work on guest experience software that shape the future of hospitality.

You will be working on our state-of-the-art Agilysys Stay, SaaS-based Property Management Solution for resorts and hotels. We build highly available REST-based cloud services using Java , JavaScript and server-less tech. This position offers an opportunity to learn a broad range of new skills, technology, and processes. We practice Agile methodologies, create sustainable schedules, and our cross-functional teams build strong, collaborative relationships as partners in the delivery of quality solutions.

You will collaborate as a key stakeholder in the definition, creation, and delivery of our solutions. You will be responsible for designing and developing web services, components, scripts and applications that enable incremental delivery of powerful cloud-based and on-premise customer solutions. You must be comfortable in an agile environment and love working closely across the team so that testing is seamlessly integrated into our overall development process. You must have an agile mindset and must be mindful of striking the balance between time to market as well as high quality code.

Responsibilities

• Dive deep on technical requirements to understand end-to-end needs
• Identify and try solution options that are simple, extensible, and maintainable
• Document, review and collaborate on implementation choices and decisions
• Use your test-driven engineering skills to work closely with the delivery team to speed solutions to completion
• Refactor as needed to always leave things better than you found them
• Review and comment on designs and code of others
• Support integration and problem solving with members of other delivery teams
• Participate in the on-call process to quickly troubleshoot and solve customer problems
• Aggressively take and resolve bugs to keep our code base clean and trouble free
• Exhibit discipline towards agile processes always thinking holistically about team goals
• Mentor and collaborate with our global development teams

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computing related discipline.
• 5 -8 years of professional software development experience.
• Mastery with NodeJS/JavaScript and Java programming experience including common design patterns, data structures and object-oriented principles.
• Experience with RESTful services, server-less technology, no-SQL DB like MongoDB.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
