Brief Job Description
The UPD Senior Staff Assistant provides significant administrative support to the department. They are primarily focused on managing the department’s accreditation status with the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services, submitting and tracking all departmental purchases and formatting / maintaining departmental written directives, as well as supervising the University Police Student Assistant program. Additional focus will be on assisting with department-wide projects as well as maintaining the department’s presence on social media.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Administrative support experience on a college campus;
- Familiarity with a state- or nation-wide accreditation program;
- Demonstrated experience with procurement processing;
- High level knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat;
- Must have demonstrable experience with multi-tasking high level duties;
- Must pass a police background check for civilian employees.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those who have experience with state systems and those who are trained as an NYS DCJS Accreditation Manager. Masters Degree, demonstrated experience with a state- or nation-wide accreditation program, supervisory experience preferred.
