Job Description

Shaker Recruitment Marketing is now accepting applications for our 2025 summer internship program. Our internship program provides hands-on learning, mentorship, and networking opportunities that will help you build a strong foundation for your future career. 

  • Assist in planning and executing various events, including conferences/trade shows, client dinners, webinars, and our proprietary events called Shaker Sessions.   

  • Support the Director of Events in vendor management, including researching potential vendors, obtaining quotes, and coordinating logistics.  

  • Help in creating and maintaining event timelines, checklists, and budgets to ensure all aspects of the event are executed smoothly.  

  • Participate in site visits and assist in venue selection, layout planning, and event setup.  

  • Coordinate and communicate event details with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors.  

  • Assist in the development and distribution of event promotional materials.  

  • Provide on-site support during events, including setup, registration, attendee assistance, and breakdown.  

  • Help conduct post-event retrospectives and contribute to reports on event outcomes and areas for improvement.  

  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as data entry, filing, and managing event-related correspondence using HubSpot.   

This internship offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth to gain hands-on experience in event planning, coordination, and execution within a B2B setting. 

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, pursuing a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field. 
  • Availability to work 32 hours+/week in our Oak Park office. 

  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, with attention to detail 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other common software applications. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Proactive in asking questions. 

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.  

  • Prior experience in event planning or coordination is a plus.  

  • Eagerness to learn, grow and develop; open to taking on new challenges and embracing new ways of thinking. 

Duration and Schedule: The Internship program runs from June 2 – August 7 2025. This is a full-time in-person opportunity. Interns are expected to work Monday - Thursday from 8:45 am – 4:45 pm CST.
