Primary Functions:
Provide skilled labor support (duties falling outside the scope of the work jurisdictions claimed by sheet metal workers, pipefitters and/or plumbers) until successfully enrolled as a student in a D.O.L.-approved apprenticeship program.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Deliver, load and unload, store, clean, pick-up, service, and assist in moving and placing tools, materials, and equipment.
- Shop work:paint; seal duct; handle material; store material and equipment; stock pile material; clean up scrap.
- Field work:deliver and string duct work, equipment and tools to various floors; seal duct; erect and dismantle scaffolding (not exceeding 3 sections high without being under the supervision of a journeyman); cut holes in floors, walls, ceilings and roofs; dismantle, wreck and/or haul off non-reusable material and equipment associated with demolition and remodel work.
- May perform work with trade-related tools only when the correct journeyman ratio is satisfied and supervision has authorized.
- Perform all work within the confines of Brandt’s safety rules and regulations.
- Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Ability to successfully pass company drug-screen and physical tests
- Employment is contingent upon satisfying all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from any jobsite or from working with any of Brandt’s partnering General Contractors, Owners, Customers, etc.
- Employment is contingent upon active membership in the appropriate local trade union.
