Position Overview

Directly oversees hourly associates and allocates resources as necessary. Supervises planning, scheduling, setup, and execution of production activities. Manages the distribution and allocation of materials for production. Maintains labor and material requirements to meet daily production schedule. Supervises production associates and collaborates with leaders of production support staff; communicates expectations and provides guidance and training. Monitors work performance and offers feedback. Manages maintenance of production equipment. Supervises process control and quality process control.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise production associate outcomes through the selection, orientation, training, assignment, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions of associates; communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and evaluate job contributions; recommend compensation actions; adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain production processes by observing process volumes; recommend process adjustments.
  • Complete production processes by monitoring progress; expedite material flow and work results; resolve issues.
  • Enhance process workflow by eliminating stoppages; analyze delays; test new methods.
  • Record production by completing daily shift production reports; calculate yields and recoveries.
  • Maintain process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and issues to next shift.
  • Maintain working relationship with union, where applicable, by complying with the terms of the (CBA).
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy production process environment by adhering to organizational standards and policies, as well as legal regulations; notify others of potential concerns.
  • Contribute to production process and organizational success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; assist others in achieving job results.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications and Education

  • Possess at least an associate’s degree; engineering degree preferred. Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience. Internship or co-op experience is acceptable.
  • Familiarity and understanding of Process Control Plan, PFMEA, and other process control standards.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to lead, manage and motivate the production team in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Performance, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have experience with high-performance work teams.
  • Show a high level of initiative and assertiveness, along with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Possess the ability to analyze short and long-term objectives and make sound decisions.
  • Adapt to change in a dynamic work environment while effectively managing resources and striving for excellence.
  • Be willing to work across a three-shift operation.
  • Be willing to work periodically on weekends.
  • Have some knowledge of lean principles, which is advantageous.
