Job Description

Shiji Group is looking for a Data Privacy Specialist to join our Legal and Privacy Team. The role requires an innovative, forward-thinking and result-oriented individual with a passion to solve complex privacy challenges in a pragmatic way and to translate laws and regulations into actions that enable business objectives. The person will work closely with Shiji Group’s external DPO and serve as the first point of contact for all data privacy matters.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Monitoring various country or region-specific privacy legislations and data protection regulations, analyzing compliance requirements and issuing recommendations as needed, support the implementation of new requirements into technology
  • Leading privacy by design initiatives for a portfolio of SaaS products dedicated for the hospitality industry
  • Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
  • Improve and maintain cross-border data transfer legal framework
  • Review and negotiations of various data protection terms and data processing agreements with clients, suppliers, partners
  • Privacy incident management
  • Maintaining the Register of Processing Activities
  • Interact with IT, security and business stakeholders to identify data protection related risks and introduce mitigating measures
  • Conducting employee trainings, increasing employee understanding of privacy, data handling practices and legal obligations
  • Responding to data subject requests

Qualifications

  • A university degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Privacy role in multi-national company, ideally in tech/SaaS
  • IAPP certification (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT)
  • Experience with interpreting and implementing obligations of the data protection legislation and regulations (especially the GDPR, CCPA and PIPL), as well understanding of security compliance
  • Familiarity with One Trust and/or similar solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in IT and security when working in privacy role, including a solid understanding of relevant technologies, such as encryption, hashing, tokenization, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on broad variety of legal and tech matters and collaboration with various teams and divisions
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of IT and SaaS products and practices to protect data during processing activities
