Job Description:
Oregon Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Shipping Point Inspection 1 to join our Market Access and Certification Program Area.
As the Shipping Point Inspector 1, you will inspect samples for compliance to grade, taking into consideration factors such as shape, size, color, and any physical deterioration such as rot and insect or disease damage. You will also conduct inspection of programs in facilities where regular supervision is not available. In addition, you will assist in the training of Federal-State inspectors, applicant-employed inspectors.
The Shipping Point Inspector 1 is a Seasonal Part -time position, located in Hermiston, Oregon and is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Working conditions
Must be able to work under the following conditions with or without reasonable accommodations:
Works around trucks, lift-trucks, and other potentially hazardous equipment.
May cover large geographical areas.
Working long hours, nights, weekends and/or split shifts may be required.
Occasionally working with industry members in matters relating to contentious issues.
Works regularly in field conditions with exposure to weather.
Requires lifting of objects 50 lbs. or more.
May require travel (a valid driver’s license is required).
