Shriners Children's is the premier orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have a full time opportunity for a Sterile Processing Technician working 12pm-8:30pm.
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for providing reprocessed supplies and equipment required by all departments that render patient care. In this position, you'll ensure that all instruments are sterile, which will help maintain a safe environment for our patients.
The Sterile Processing Tech shall be knowledgeable and implement related decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization, sterile storage and distribution of medical devices processes. This includes but is not limited to:• Select, utilize and maintain count sheets for instrumentation.• Ensures functionality, cleanliness and completeness of instrument trays.• Utilizes appropriate packaging for sterilization.• Understands the difference between all sterilization procedures and applies appropriate practices.• Uses the computer for recording sterilization without difficulty.
• Monitors and documents sterilization.• Maintains the Sterile Core and O.R. suites with correct and adequate supplies.• Available and efficient in the delivery of needed supplies during surgical procedures.
Education
High School diploma or GED preferred
Certification/Licensure
CSPDT or equivalent certification preferred
Skills
1 year experience in sterile processing preferred
