This position is responsible for thoroughly understanding the organization’s data and business needs to help translate complex data into actionable insights.Responsibilities:• Analyze large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends, root causes, and business improvement opportunities, and visualize those findings using traditional and digital data visualization tools .• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx or SQL.• Support a fact-based culture to drive decision-making and business investments.• Support business units in understanding their data needs and by providing actionable insights.• Support Business Intelligence data efforts through quality assurance and due diligence.• Enhance data collection procedures and create and maintain documentation for BI solutions to support and improve the validity of SHRM’s reporting.• Provide ad hoc analyses for various business units.• Other duties and projects as assigned.Education & Experience Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or Marketing; or equivalent relevant work experience/training• At least three (3) years of experience with big data analytics. Experience with data science or working on large, complex data sets preferred.• Experience writing SQL scripts and working in a data warehouse environment with large data sets.• Experience with product and customer based data analysis.• Experience functioning in a highly matrixed organization.• Experience in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, Python, Power BI)Preferred• Notable accomplishments in data storytelling & customer demographics data.• Exposure to Google cloud and big query• Exposure to predictive analytics.Certifications• Tableau Desktop Certified preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities• Strong data analysis skills and mathematical statistical tool proficiency.• High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.• Professional integrity necessary to maintain confidentiality.• Strong planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.• Ability to complete assigned duties within critical deadlines.• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).• Proficiency with modern reporting platforms and tools like Tableau and Alteryx.• Ability to grasp complex platform concepts and business models, in a digital context.Preferred• Ability to derive and present compelling stories based on data and metrics.• Ability to build professional relationships across reporting linesAdditional NotesPhysical Requirements• Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.• Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.Work environment• Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.The hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $92,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
