Robotics Repair Technician

The Robotics Repair Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of robotic units deployed at customer locations. This role requires a skilled technician capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading robotic hardware to maintain consistent service and satisfaction for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electromechanical systems and experience working with robotics in various environments.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • On-Site Maintenance and Repairs: Travel to local customer stores to perform hardware maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on deployed robots. Ensure all service requests are handled efficiently, minimizing downtime.
  • Diagnosis and Repair of Tally Robots at Simbe Repair Center: Receive, assess, and repair Tally robots that have experienced issues in the field. Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify root causes and bring each unit back to optimal operating condition.
  • Refurbishment: Refurbish returned units to "like-new" condition, ensuring that each refurbished unit meets quality and performance standards before being redeployed.
  • Spare Parts Inventory and Logistics: Manage inventory of spare parts, track usage, and coordinate shipments to technicians in the field to facilitate remote repairs. Maintain organized records of parts usage for accountability.
  • Field Travel: Conduct local travel (up to 25% of the time) within the Midwest U.S. area, primarily greater St. Louis, with occasional trips in neighboring states, to support field operations, including urgent repairs, routine maintenance, and scheduled upgrades at customer locations.


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience in assembling, maintaining, or repairing complex electromechanical systems, with specific expertise in robotics preferred.
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues. A systematic approach to problem-solving is essential.
  • Control Tools Proficiency: Proficiency in using web-based live control tools for monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Linux Proficiency: Competency with Linux OS, including command-line interface and basic shell scripting, to facilitate system troubleshooting and updates.
  • Tool Skills: Skilled in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized electrical repair tools (such as soldering irons and wire crimpers), to perform repairs and replacements effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions and repair guidelines accurately to ensure repairs meet company standards.
  • Schematics and Technical Drawings: Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings are advantageous for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Communication Skills: Strong English communication skills, both oral and written, for effective documentation and customer interactions.Collaboration: Experience using collaborative messaging tools to communicate with team members and document repair processes in real time.

  • An excellent motor vehicle record (MVR), defined as: No at-fault accidents within the past 3 years. No major traffic violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving) within the past 5 years. No license suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years.
  • Ability to meet company driving standards as verified through a background check.


$32 - $35 an hour
Hourly pay is dependent on experience and location. Overtime eligible.
