This Opportunity

Louis Berger Services, Inc. (LBS) is currently looking for a full-time Site Supervisor to support a statewide project delivering facilities operations and maintenance services to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Reporting to the Area Manager, the Site Supervisor (SS) is responsible for managing a team of site attendants and ensuring that all Contract requirements are met at each project site.

Your Impact

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance for up to two project sites.
  • Be available to VDOT twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week and be on-site within 60 minutes of notification or direction by the client during emergencies and contract deficiencies.
  • Serve as VDOTs primary point of contact for the project sites they supervise.
  • Perform site-specific management duties and take actions that prevent contract deficiencies from occurring and to address and correct contract deficiencies when they do occur without waiting for or requiring notice or complaint from visitors or VDOT.
  • Conduct weekly on-site inspections of each project site, with no more than seven days between inspections.
  • Supervise up to 20 attendants per project site.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, the SS shall be responsible for each attendant’s Occupational Safety and Health, and Fire Safety Training, along with other trainings required by VDOT.
  • Be familiar and capable of reporting and communicating through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Promote a zero-harm safety culture and ensure the site safety of all personnel, subcontractors and traveling public.
  • Abide by and ensure compliance with company processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as prescribed by management.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Commensurate experience, licensures, and certifications acceptable.
  • Five years’ experience in commercial facilities maintenance or property Supervision with general knowledge of operation, maintenance and repair of building systems and components.
  • Three years’ experience in a supervisory position with knowledge of management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of building systems and fixtures.
  • Pass Virginia background check.
  • Team- and customer-oriented, providing superior services to the traveling public and internal departments.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA and VOSH standards.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the maintenance or repair of buildings or other structures.
  • Knowledge of basic use of tools for cleaning, repair, and maintenance and cleaning techniques.
  • Knowledge of application and handling procedures. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, material safety data sheets, and disposal methods.
  • Must be able to multi-task, working in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines in a timely manner. Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting readily to changing priorities. Makes decisions independently on problems and methods using the best available information at the time.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to communicate with many levels of personnel effectively and tactfully in a variety of environments. Must be able to tactfully navigate delicate situations with finesse and sensitivity.
  • Must have strong computer skills to be able to compose spreadsheets for a variety of purposes as well as effectively communicate through the written media. Must be detail-oriented with a strong sense of motivation and drive to constantly perform at a high level of expertise.
  • Fluent English reading and writing skills to be able to read and understand guidance for day-to-day work requirements.
  • Must maintain a valid United States driver’s license.
  • Able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible hours when necessary.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.
